Last Week's Microsoft Update Creates Blue Screens Of Death.
Microsoft has recommended uninstallation of of MS14-045 and a few other updates after a number of customers reportedly experienced the blue screens of death and reboot loop. After an update on my Think Edge A9z i just saw my pc suddenly reboot with 5 updates to be installed. Its was a bit queer but i was out of my usual focus and attributed the reboot to other immediate activities. A recovery from this restart noted pop ups on the personal website i was working on. Malwarebytes remediated my situation.
A Microsoft spokesperson told ZDNet that they "are aware of some issues related to the recent updates and we are working on a fix."
Edward Langley at the Naked PowerShell Blog has written a series of PowerShell scripts to determine if any of the relevant updates are installed on a system.
